Free Hernia Screenings and Hernia Education at Oro Valley Hospital on February 11
1/27/2026
Community encouraged to take advantage of early detection opportunity
TUCSON, AZ – Jan. 27, 2026 – Northwest Healthcare invites the community to attend a free hernia screening event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February. 11, at Oro Valley Hospital, located at 1551 E. Tangerine Rd.

The event will begin with a brief hernia education overview, followed by a complimentary hernia exam (for adults 18+) with a licensed Northwest Healthcare provider. General surgeons Drs. Seda Bourikian, M.D., Anyul Ferez-Pinzon, M.D., and Rebecca Innes, D.O. will be in attendance.
The education session is mandatory in order to have the screening, which will be followed by on-site scheduling for surgical consults if needed. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized advice.
Hernias often go unnoticed in early stages, but they can lead to serious problems if left untreated. Early detection at a screening allows physicians to offer treatment options designed to help prevent discomfort, complications and even emergency surgery later on.
You may benefit from a screening if you:
- Are experiencing discomfort, swelling, heaviness, weakness or a bulge in your groin or belly
- Regularly lift heavy objects
- Have a family history of hernias
- Are an athlete or a very active person
Light refreshments will be served – and attendees will be invited to “test drive” the surgical robot used for hernia surgeries.
Please pre-register to ensure timely screening. To reserve your spot and learn more, visit: https://shorturl.at/omv1k.
