Oro Valley Hospital Partners with Local First Responders for Emergency Preparedness Exercise

Oro Valley Hospital, part of Northwest Healthcare, partnered with local law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and emergency management agencies on Sept. 17 for a large-scale emergency preparedness exercise designed to strengthen coordination and response capabilities during a potential emergency.
The planned exercise brought together hospital team members and community emergency response partners, including Golder Ranch Fire District, AMR, Oro Valley Police Department, City of Tucson Dispatch, LifeNet and Pima County Office of Emergency Management.
“Preparedness is an important part of our responsibility to our patients, employees and community,” said Northwest Healthcare Market CEO Drew Emery. “Exercises like this allow the teams to practice together, evaluate our processes and strengthen the coordination that would be critical during a real emergency.”
The exercise provided hospital staff and participating organizations an opportunity to practice communication, coordination and emergency response procedures, and identify lessons that can further strengthen preparedness in a controlled environment.
