Dr. Francisco Jaume, D.O., Changes Pam’s Life in Sahuarita
8/13/2026
When Pam got out of bed at 3 a.m. to loosen up a muscle spasm in her leg, she had no idea she was going to fall, break her wrist, and wake up on the floor.
At 80 years old – living by herself with four cats and a busy gig as a cat volunteer at The Animal League of Green Valley – Pam needed to get back in the mobility game as quickly as possible.
“When you live alone, you have to be self-sufficient,” she says.
Fortunately, the emergency department at Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita referred Pam to orthopedic surgeon Francisco Jaume, D.O., conveniently located at Northwest Bone & Joint at Duval Mine. He repaired the break with outpatient surgery and a prescription for 12 physical therapy appointments. Pam only needed eight of them.
“I really liked Dr. Jaume; he was great," Pam says. “He’s a real sweetheart, very low-key and delightful. I liked everybody else in the office – they were great, too.”
Pam, who is now back volunteering with cats and enjoying walks and books, describes her recovery as “not a big deal.” She also appreciates her wrist looking (as well as feeling) the same as it did before her injury.
“The incision Dr. Jaume made – you can hardly see it,” she says. “He could have been a plastic surgeon,” she says.”
Congratulations to Pam on returning to her busy, active life – and thanks to Dr. Jaume for his knowledge and compassion. Learn more about Dr. Jaume or to make an appointment here.
