The Maternity Care Team at Northwest Women’s Center Helps Moms with Breastfeeding
8/31/2026
TUCSON, AZ (Aug. 31, 2026) – The maternity care team at Northwest Women’s Center invites expectant mothers to a free online class, Breastfeeding and the 4th Trimester, designed to help introduce moms to breastfeeding before having a baby. Register here for the next monthly session on Wed., Sept. 16. After the baby is born, moms are invited to a free, in-person Breastfeeding Support Group on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
The lactation team at the Women’s Center is specially trained to support families beginning at birth and throughout their breastfeeding journey.
“At our support group, moms can get more hands-on assistance with latching and positioning their babies, as well as asking questions which may have come up after leaving the hospital,” says Jessica Tredici, one of the three lactation consultants at the Women’s Center. "Breastfeeding is a learning process for both mom and baby," she says. "A lactation consultant is here to help you get a positive start, and assist with resources for continued breastfeeding support once your baby is home."
Jessica and her team are specially trained to help women and babies learn what to expect during the breastfeeding process – and overcome soreness, congestion, and latching challenges.
“Breastfeeding isn’t always easy, but it shouldn’t be painful or upsetting,” Jessica says. “A lactation consultant is here to help you get a positive start, then access resources and information as needed.”
